Schuyler Wood

Coach Schuyler brings a strong foundation of coaching, leadership, and competitive athletics to the Heat Volleyball coaching staff. She spent the past five years as the head volleyball coach at Capps Middle School, where she helped develop young athletes while also serving as a seventh-grade English teacher. She recently accepted a position as a counselor at Putnam City North High School and will earn her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma this December.

A standout multi-sport athlete, Schuyler earned All-Conference honors as an outside hitter during her high school volleyball career. She also enjoyed an exceptional track and field career, winning three state championships in the long jump and finishing as a four-time state runner-up in the high jump. She went on to compete at both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, where she was named First Team All-Big 12 and earned Academic All-American honors multiple times.

Schuyler is passionate about helping athletes build strong fundamentals, compete with confidence, and grow both on and off the court. Her experience as a coach, educator, and high-level collegiate athlete allows her to connect with players while creating a positive, disciplined, and encouraging environment for development.
