Mattie Farris – Head Coach, HEAT 17/18 National

Mattie has been part of the volleyball world since the age of 12, playing with OK Charge through her 17s year before being moved up to the 18s team for their Nationals bid. She was also a competitive beach volleyball athlete, qualifying for Nationals with her partner.

After high school, Mattie played collegiate volleyball at St. Gregory’s University in 2014. She later spent time in New Zealand, where she played and coached for the Tauranga Volleyball Club.

This will be Mattie’s sixth season coaching with HEAT Volleyball Club. In 2025, her HEAT 16s team finished as OKRVA Regional Runner-Up (non-bid division), and in 2023, her 14s team claimed the OKRVA Regional Championship title (non-bid division).

Mattie will be leading our HEAT 17/18 National team this season and is excited to build on her success and lead her athletes to another strong finish.

Fun Fact:
Coach Mattie was an extra in a movie that starred Selena Gomez, and she accidentally ran over her during filming. #yikes!
